After honing its cyber capabilities, Turkey is all set to offer its services abroad
Turkey was wise to enhance its cyber capacity, especially in setting up its own national cybersecurity center. The National Cyber security Intervention rebranded itself from the last year. It is providing Turkey defense tools to overcome the threat of cyber attacks. Turkey ‘got it right’ investing in building its cyber capabilities as it is now all set to offer its solutions abroad.
As per recent report it is expected that Turkey may become UK’s ally in cybersecurity. The UK is willing to offer its knowledge and capacity with its fellow NATO countries, and with friendly countries with which we share the same values and Turkey is clearly important in this regard,” said Lady Olga Maitland, who currently serves as the head of the London-based Defense and Security Forum.
This development does indicate that Turkey has emerged as the cyber power in Arab region after Iran and Israel. So apart from offering western countries it is also offering regional countries its cyber support.
Few days ago, the Emir of Qatar has turned to Turkey for strengthening the security of FIFA World Cup 2022.Turkey proved to be a cyber ally for Qatar.
Turkey emerged as a key player in cyber warfare domain by providing cyber assistance to Qatar after the Qatar News Agency (QNA) hack incident. In this case Turkey identified five suspects that were involved in hacking of QNA. Later, there were many bilateral agreements signed between them based on enhancing Qatar cyber capabilities to sustain its developmental position in the region as well.
Another plausible association of Turkey seems to be with United Arab Emirates (UAE). Turkey and UAE have had a long-time regional rivalry but apparently the countries are now trying to overcome their regional tensions. As per new reports, UAE and Turkey will be joining hands and the latter is expected to support the UAE’s intelligence operations.
In the above, it is seen that Turkey always seemed interested in Arab Spring for providing cyber intelligence and technology services. Turkey is expanding its technological sphere like Israel and Iran and wants to become super power nation in cyber warfare domain.
