Turkey and United Arab Emirates (UAE) have had a long-time regional rivalry but apparently the countries are now trying to overcome their regional tensions. As per new reports, UAE and Turkey will be joining hands and the latter is expected to support the UAE’s intelligence operations.

On Wednesday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan disclosed about the ongoing investment prospects that were in discussion with the UAE National Security Adviser Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan. And if all turns out well, the UAE would make some “serious investments” in Turkey.

Erdogan attended an unprecedented meeting with the UAE national security advisor in Ankara on August 18. The aim was to discuss about the intelligence services of both the countries in the last six months. The steps towards reconciliation began on January 5 at the summit of the Al-Ula Gulf Cooperation Council Summit which ended Qatar’s isolation and paved the way for UAE’s relations with Turkey.

After the summit, Mohammad bin Zayed (MBZ) travelled to Cairo where he met with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who strongly encouraged him to start a new chapter with Ankara. Right at the same time, Abbas Kamel, director of Egyptian Intelligence Service — Mukhabarat al-Amma, engaged in secret talks with their Turkish counterpart, the MIT’s chief Hakan Fidan.

Earlier also Turkey was in news for becoming the designated cyber support for Qatar’s bilateral agreements signed in the technology sector. Turkey had played a very important role in supporting Qatar’s cyber operations. Qatar may not have sought a better partner than Turkey, which also has a proven ability and trust experienced by Qatar during the resolution of QNA Hack.

In the above, it is seen that Turkey always seemed interested in Arab Spring for providing cyber intelligence and technology services. Turkey is expanding its technological sphere like Israel and Iran and wants to become super power nation in cyber warfare domain.
