Pakistan expressed apprehensive concerns about India- Israel cyber partnership
The relationship between India and Israel has blossomed since 1992 at the level of Military, agriculture, Economic, cyber, and political. But, this connection between India and Israel has increasingly warmed up since the Indian Prime Minister’s official visit to Israel in 2017, when the two leaders decided to strengthen the Indo-Israeli relationship in various spheres, with cybersecurity recognized as a key pillar to protect from their rivals.
Very recently, a Pakistan-based think tank held a seminar in which Islamabad expressed its apprehensive concerns over the growing ties between India (a rival nation of Pakistan) and Israel. There is not a hidden fact that India- Pakistan, and Iran-Israel have a deep hostility toward each other. This hostility has escalated with time into a loud array of wars against each other.
To preserve their nations from the expanding ties between India and Israel, Pakistani discussants emphasize collaborating with Iran in the domain of cybersecurity, Information Technology (IT), and the telecom sector to get benefits from mutual experiences.
It was also stated by Syed Muhammad Ali (Pakistan-based International security expert) for ‘Iran’s Cyber Security Challenges and Response’ at the Institute of Regional Studies (IRS) that “Data has become the most valuable asset in the Industry 4.0 driven by IT. Hence, equitable sharing of cyberspace and relevant technologies should be shared fairly by semi-developed (Iran) and developing Nation (Pakistan) for the common pursuit of progress, prosperity and peace”.
Since 2017, India-Israel partnerships in the startups ecosystem have expanded. After one year in 2018, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in the middle of both the Nations related to cyber cooperation with an aim to develop and promote Business-to-Business cooperation, collaboration in the sphere of cyber security resilience, and facilitate industrial summits. This cooperation has resulted in several meetings, seminars and visits among the administrative and industrial officials.
On the other hand, Pakistan too team up with china to defend their common rival India where Pakistan has emerged as a proxy for china’s malicious intent in spreading anti India Propaganda on Social media.
Israel was very well aware that the threat emerging from China and Pakistan in the domain of cyber could stimulate India to purchase Israeli cyber and border-defense technologies. That is why in the recently held meeting between the defense ministers of India and Israel, cyber security tensions for India are among the main issues discussed.
Talking about Kashmir matters, for which both the nations have fought so many wars since 1947.
In the year 2019, Brown Lloyd James (China’s favored lobbying firm) came in limelight for supporting Pakistan over the Kashmir matter of states. Not only China, in fact, the Indian intelligence agency believes Turkey too is helping the Pakistani nation by becoming the launch pad for Pakistani propaganda over the Kashmir matter.
Apart from Kashmir matters, both Pakistan and India have aggressively engaged in Social media disinformation campaigns against each other. On 3 June 2021, Facebook discovered that AlphaPro (a Pakistani-based PR firm) had launched a disinformation campaign by using fictitious accounts to post about current news with a clear political agenda against India.
In the same year, India too has been developing itself to counter Pakistan. It was exposed by Eu DisinfoLab that India-based Srivastava Group engaged in a large-scale disinformation campaign to influence the European Union on the conflicting issue of Jammu and Kashmir. The networks were active in Brussels and Geneva in magnifying content intended to, mainly, damage Pakistan.
Hence we can say that there is no end of the war between India and Pakistan. Both the countries are highly engaged to defeat each other in a manner that they took help from foreign Nations. But there are some Indian actors like Phronesis and Srivastava group also who are capable enough to start a war by utilizing their self-made tools against their rival nation.
