Israel’OSINT firm Cyberglobes prospects in India
Israeli based Cyberglobes was founded in 2017 and headed by former Motorola executive Pini Kliener. The firm supplies social media monitoring services, or SOCMINT, to many intelligence services. Its advisers include Gil Israeli, the chief executive of the electronic warfare and interceptions or Signal Intelligence (SIGINT) firm Netline Communications Technologies (NCT).
Cyberglobe is an active exporter of open source intelligence solutions (OSINT) software despite its ban from Facebook and other US platforms, and has been recently been prospecting in India to serve their intelligence wing.
Last month, cyberglobe attended the Digipol global policing and defence fair in Hyderabad. In 2019, Indian newspaper Deccan Chronicle reported that it had demonstrated its social network monitoring/listening solutions to several Indian police forces.
Apart from Cyberglobe, many other Israeli firms also participated in Digipol like Cognyte, a cyberoffensive spinoff of the Israeli defence company Verint; the Israeli secure communications firm CommuniTake Technologies, cofounded by Eran Karpen, Ronen Sasson and NSO Group founders Omri Lavie and Shalev Hulio; and Prelysis.
Despite its ban from Meta (Facebook’s parent company), cyberglobe is particularly most active in the export market across the countries. Its solutions were used by many countries like Ukrainian internal intelligence service, the SBU and UAE’s part-public defence conglomerate Edge Group for the OSINT platform it is planning to build.
India’s cyber wing such as Research & Analysis Wing (RAW), India’s intelligence service, has been approached by Israel’s NSO Group and Candiru for its mobile phone and computer spyware tender. This indicates Israel is making a strong foothold across the world in cyber offensive domain.
